Tarnów is a city ideal for those who love warmth
With the highest annual mean temperatures, Tarnów is known as Poland’s warmest city.
It is also one of Poland’s speedway capitals. Eminent riders, such as Tomasz Gollob, Tony Rickardsson or Greg Hancock, all raced representing the colours of Unia Tarnów.
While in Tarnów, don’t forget to visit the cathedral built in the 14th century and the unique railway station, which many consider one of the most exquisite buildings of its type.
Great photos can be taken next to the statue of the organ grinder, who used to perform in the square before the Second World War. Music plays when you stand near the sculpture. And if you are a fan of urban legends, take a walk over to the statue of the Polish King Ladislaus the Short, located at Wałowa Street. Legend has it that touching the royal shoe with your right hand will bring you luck for many years.
