Application of local border traffic agreements to be temporarily suspended

Due to the NATO summit to be held in Warsaw on 8-9 July, and World Youth Day scheduled to take place in Krakow (20-31 July), which will include a visit to Poland by His Holiness Pope Francis, the Polish side has decided to suspend, starting from 4 July, the application of the following provisions of the agreements specified below:

1) Article 3 (1) of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the Rules of Local Border Traffic, done at Kyiv on 28 March 2008, in the part concerning entry into and stay in the territory of the Republic of Poland of the residents of the Ukrainian border area who hold a permit issued by the competent authorities of the Republic of Poland;

2) Article 5 (1) of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Government of the Russian Federation on the Rules of Local Border Traffic, done at Moscow on 14 December 2011, in the part concerning entry into and stay in the territory of the Republic of Poland of the residents of the Russian Federation’s border area who hold a permit issued by the competent authorities of the Republic of Poland.
