The commercial site of Tarnów. Defense manufacturer signs new contract
Zakłady Mechaniczne Tarnów SA has announced a new contract signed on March 19, 2021, for the delivery of 100 ZU-23-2CP 23mm anti-aircraft gun for an undisclosed foreign customer. The entire contract is to be concluded by the end of this year.
Zakłady Mechaniczne Tarnów is a Polish defense company located in the city of Tarnów, which produces handguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, and anti-air guns. It is part of the state-controlled company PGZ (Polish Armaments Group).
The ZU-23-2CP is a modernized version of the Soviet-made ZU-23-2 twin 23 mm towed anti-aircraft gun system, manufactured under license in Poland. The weapon consists of two 2A14 23 mm automatic cannons mounted on a small trailer which can be converted into a stationary mount for firing the guns. The ZU-23-2 can be towed by light tactical vehicles or military trucks.
